The Boroondara Community Stroke Hub was the first stroke support centre set up in Australia. An initiative by the Boroondara Stroke Support Group, the Stroke Hub is a safe place for everyone affected by stroke to get support.
The Stroke Hub aims to educate and provide information to stroke survivors and carers, as well as make appropriate referrals and connections in order ensure members get the support they need.
The Stroke Hub also runs activities 4 days a week: Monday to Thursday between 10.00am – 3.00pm, which encourage friendship and the development and stimulation of neural pathways through fun, educational and enjoyable activities.
Above all else, the friendships and networks made at the Boroondara Community Stroke Hub is what is important in staying hopeful through a difficult situation. Getting advice from other stroke survivors and making new friends can be key to getting back to living life to the fullest.
The aim of the Boroondara Stroke Support Group is to provide our stroke survivors and their carers a bridge to cross from Rehabilitation into our home and haven – the Boroondara Community Stroke Hub, where you will find warmth, comfort, support, fun, hope, encouragement, understanding and friendship.
