BSSG Young Stroke Support Group
The Boroondara Young Strokees Group (BYSG) was formed in 2008 to support young stroke survivors in the City of Boroondara. It is part of the Boroondara Stroke Support Group.
About the BYSG
The aims of the BYSG are to ...
- provide regular meetings that offer friendship and social contacts for fellow survivors;
- disseminate up-to-date information on stroke care, employment, accommodation and other issues relevant to the youth of today;
- nurture young strokees back to mainstream activities, health and happiness; and
- promote stroke awareness and stroke prevention.
Activities of the BYSG
The BSYG provides a range of activities for young strokees, including ...
- social outings to the movies, shows and ten-pin bowling;
- Saturday dance classes;
- lawn bowls at Kew Heights Sports Club;
- painting and woodwork sessions;
- counselling sessions at the Cairnmillar Institute.

The BYSG meets regularly once a monthy at various venues.
